Hi, I’m Michelle and I am starting to blog! Even though I’ve previously created a blog for my final project in college (which was totally directed by topics given by my professor) THIS. Right here, right now is all about what I want to share with you. An intimate gathering of friends, from near and far, that when connected will feel love and support in all areas of life. My aspiration for this space is to bring you information on healthy lifestyle changes and a mindset that makes all the difference.
I am not a coach or hold any sort of certification. I did, however, just graduate from college as an adult student last May earning my bachelor’s degree in Communication. And let me tell you, I earned every bit of it! Raising 2 teenage boys and holding a full time job while juggling the daily grind and an occasional date with my husband of 17 years does make for some hectic days.
But life has calmed down a bit since then (yeah right). We added a puppy to our family last Christmas, and after graduation we spontaneously decided to put our house up for sale. We got an offer a week later and so began our crazy summer! Moving is not for the faint of heart and selling and buying a house is as stressful as it gets. Anyway, I feel the time is right to share my story. Plus, it’s winter here in the Greater Cincinnati area and writing just sounds good to me right now.
And that’s what I’ve decided to do more of…things that feel good to me. Like recently joining Beautycounter as a consultant. This goes along with my desire to bring safer skincare to you and to be a part of their mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone.
While I surely don’t have all the answers, I have been researching the ingredients in the food we eat and the products we use for the past 5 years. There is some scary stuff out there (some that can cause subtle changes in mood or attitude to some with dire consequences, like infertility and cancer) and each day I am learning more about what it means to live in the world today.
Raising boys-to-men has its rewards and challenges for sure, but I make time to take care of myself so that I can be my best and be of service to others. You will see this as my central theme and maybe, just maybe, it will come with the hashtag #selfcare.
I hope you will find some good info here, some encouragement when you need it, and maybe some entertainment too, as we start on this journey together.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you around the inter-webs soon.
